Fishing in Nepal

Nepal not only offers Trekking, Hiking, Tour, and Mountaineering; it also offers other many adventure activities among them fishing is one of the leisure trips in Nepal.  This activity is for that adventure seeker who has lots of passion and dedication; not for them who don’t have passion. Catch fish is not happens in a minute, it takes a lot of time, therefore, this sport is not very popular like other adventure activities in Nepal. Hanes this sport will give you pleasure if you are a passionate fisher by your hobby.

The crystal clear water from the Himalaya; where approximately 200 varieties of fish live all over Nepal. 185 species of indigenous and 12 species of exotic fish and other species fish also can find in here. The popular fishing zone of Nepal is Karnali River, Kaligandaki River, Narayani River, Tirsuli River, Betrawati River, Indrawati River, Sunkoshi River, Koshi River, Bardiya National Park, Chitwan National park and many more. All these destinations require different time lengths. Another fantastic experience of fishing in Nepal; is enjoying the adventure of rafting in the fast-flowing mountain water.

This activity is an Eco-Friendly which needs passion and respect for nature. Nepal is the best place for fishing due to the biodiversity within an average breadth of around 150 KM. And the altitude varies from 60m above the sea level to the world’s highest point 8848m. The best period to enjoy this sport is from autumn October to November and Winter February to May. In Nepal fishing is not that popular but peoples who live bank of rivers they do fishing for living and fun.

Trip Itinerary of Babai River Fishing Trip

Day 01:

Morning flight to Nepalganj, after arrived at Nepalganj continue to drive to Bardia National Park by private jeep. Welcome to Bardia Jungle Resort Lunch in resort rest for while afternoon ethnic Tharu village visit and temple area.

Day 02:

After Breakfast starts walking safari with nature guide till Noon time after picnic lunch half day jeep safari evening back to resort and dinner night in resort.

Day 03:

After breakfast drive to Babai River for a day fishing trip with picnic lunch on the river bank.

Day 04:

Full day fishing guide will take you to different spots this is our last overnight in riverbank so we will provide you some special tonight by our professional staff. Overnight in the tent.

Day 05:

Morning fishing for some time and after lunch drive back to Bardia jungle resort. In the evening Tharu cultural dance in the resort.

Day 06:

Around noon time drive to Nepalgunj airport to fly back Kathmandu / transfer to the hotel.
