This giant Mt Kanchenjunga is split into the two section, Mt Kanchenjunga North Face, and South Face.
Kanchenjunga area is the homeland of Rai, Limbu, Sherpa, and Gurung community. Who speak their own language who follows a mixture of Buddhist, Hindu, and animist belief. Footsteps on the Kanchenjunga is opened to foreign travelers from 1998 with restriction of the permit. And permit still issue only by the Nepal Government’s authorized trekking companies.
MT KANCHENJUNGA TREKKING ROUTE
Mount Kanchenjunga Trek, starts a drive from Kathmandu to Taplajung; and ends a flight from Sukatar to Nepaljung and Nepaljung to Kathmandu. Another easy option is both way flight to Kathmandu – Nepaljung – Suketar – Nepaljung – Kathmandu. And also possible to finish this trek a drive from Taplejung to Kathmandu. This trek has listed in the Great Himalaya Trail Trek as well for the high Himalaya trekking trail.
The Kanchenjunga Trekking region is the first trekking region of Nepal, managing by local communities and has been GOING very successful. But still, this area is fully effective in remote facilities.
Best Season to do Mount Kanchenjunga Trek.
- Spring: March, April, and May.
- Autumn: September, October, and November:- In these two seasons, excellent weather condition and amazing vistas of mountain, landscapes, and diversity of flora and fauna. The government of Nepal only allows trekkers during these seasons to do the Kanchenjunga trek.
