Pikey Peak Trek – Enjoy the cultural and natural beauties of lower part of the Khumbu region
Pikey peak Trek is an observation of the lower part of the Everest region and the majestic mountain view trek. This trekking region is in the lower part of the Solukhumbu district. In the upper part, there are many eight-thousander mountains are standing including Mt. Everest, the top of the world. The lower part of the Solu Khumbu is the most diverse in terms of culture and traditions.
This part is the homeland of the Rai, Magar, Tamang, and Sherpa communities. Of course, this region is also popular for the Buddhist religion in the villages. Local peoples from the villages follow Buddhism and Hinduism both religions; this deepens the bond between different castes of communities.
The superb view of the world’s highest mountain peaks – Mt. Everest, Makalu, Kanchenjunga, Gauri Shankar, Lhotse Shar, Numbur, Khatang, Karyalung, Nuptse, Amadablam, Shishapangma, Thamserku, Mera Peak, and many more. The dramatic landscapes, sunrise, and sunset views from the top of the Pikey Danda are spectacular.
Pikey Peak Trek is one of the short treks but beautiful in terms of views, culture, people, and of course fewer trekkers there. In this region, there are not very fancy guest houses everywhere so that if you are looking for a fancy trek this is not for you. But if you are looking for the remote and typical trek then this is the best for you.
Buddhist monastery, Mani walls, Buddhist Chorten, Stupa, Mani stone, and prayer flags you will encounter in every village. Which are really beautiful and religiously meaningful. Trekking in this area is the best way to understand Himalayan Buddhism in Nepal. Because every village has a monastery and along the way, there are many mani walls, stupas, prayer flags, which indicates this land is a pure home of Buddhism in Nepal.

We advise getting travel insurance to all travelers who are interested in trekking in Nepal. Trekking in Nepal is walking on the trail (path) of mountains. In mountain areas, health treatment facilities are not standard. There is less availability of good hospitals and doctors. So if in case the trekker suffers from severe sickness, he needs to be brought back to Kathmandu by helicopter for better treatment. And the helicopter charter fare is expensive in Nepal. If you already have travel insurance, your expenditure during these times will lessen.
When selecting a travel insurance policy we require that at a minimum you are covered for medical expenses including emergency repatriation. We strongly recommend that the policy also covers personal liability, cancellation, curtailment and loss of luggage and personal effects. We JRN Treks shall have no liability for loss, theft of or damage to baggage or personal effects.
We would also like to let you know that Nepalese Insurance Company does not have travel insurance policy for foreign nationals. They have this policy only for Nepalese citizens. So we advise you to get your travel insurance with Insurance Company in your own place.
