I organized the Mustang trekking with JRN TREKS and accompanied the trek as a tour guide. I had a group of 16 people. It was a great trek through a fascinating area. The first guide Raby Dong speaks very good English and is an extremely helpful man. The other guides and porters of JRN TREKS are all professional and very customer oriented. They constantly try to give the customers the most beautiful holiday experience in their life. During the trek the lodges are good and the food is varied. The surroundings in Mustang and the views are breathtaking. The days are long but not too heavy.

The Mustang trekking we made with JRN Treks was very well organized. Raby, Jit and Cherkyan are excellent guides who leave nothing to the unexpected and also solve problems very subtly. We are very satisfied about the guides, the porters and our holiday.
At my age of 74 years I was a little bit nervous about the trekking in Upper Mustang. In the first week everything went very well but the last days of the trekking I was exhausted because of a fever. The men of JRN Treks carried my backpack and they always stayed with me to bring me safe to the lodge. I am very happy that I got the chance to return to Nepal once again and to make this unforgettable trekking with them.
I was for the 12th time in Nepal and I did all the trekkings with Jit Lama and/or Raby Dong. Twelve years ago they started both as a porter, but soon they succeeded both in becoming a guide. Now they have since 3 years their own company JRN Treks. This year we organized with them for the 2nd time a private group with friends. This time with a big group of 16 members. Jit and Raby made the trekking in Mustang a big success. The organization before and during the trekking was perfect. Also they care for the well-being of all the members. Every evening we got a perfect briefing in fluently English from Raby about what we could expect the next day. Both brothers are very friendly and they like to give the members a holiday they will never forget. And they succeeded in it! Thank you so much!

The men of JRN Treks do always their very best during the whole trekking. They are cheerful and caring and very patient with the slowest member. Raby had together with tour leader Hans a good overview over the whole group of 16 members. We give a big compliment to the porters who did a very tough job.

We made a beautiful trekking through Upper Mustang. It was tough, but well supervised by the guides and porters of JRN Treks. The food during the trek and in the lodges was surprisingly varied, there was more variety than only rice. It was an unforgettable trekking, especially because of the good organization and support by the men of JRN Treks.
It was an excellent performed trekking to Upper Mustang. JRN Treks has shown in a very professional way to be able to accompany a trekking perfectly. The guides speak the English language reasonably good to excellent. This makes the conversations no problem. The proposed excursions to the sights were appreciated and are definitely recommended during this trek.
I sought out a Raby's services when my friends and I decided to undertake the Manaslu trek. I've done a number of treks on the teahouse circuit where there's a beaten track which you can follow from village to village, finding your accommodation and meals without any difficulty. Manaslu was different, it was less developed, the department of tourism required you to have certain permits and most importantly you were required to have a guide.
All in all, Raby was a good guide. He tailored the trip to our group's requests. He allowed us input on what we wanted to do, what we wanted to see and I believe that without him our trip wouldn't have been nearly as enriching. We saw sights we would have otherwise missed, he helped us navigate a patch of difficult weather which we probably would have been too inexperienced to have borne on our own.
As such, I'd recommend his services and if you want someone experienced in some of the lesser known regions of Nepal I think you would have trouble finding someone to match his enthusiasm and experience. Without rereading the same ground that other reviewers write, I will just concur with everything positive that j_chou90 says about him in an earlier review.
If you need a guide, look no further than Raby and JRN Treks.

If you ever thought of trekking in Nepal but weren't sure about the how's, where's and so on, these are the people to talk to. Raby is an amazing guy who not only knows the destinations and can help you out choosing, but also everything about what equipment is needed for that specific trek at that specific time of year. He'll help you through the whole experience and you'll feel all the more grateful for his help! There being a lot of companies to choose from it can sometimes be difficult to navigate through all the information, but seeing as these guys are a local company with all the experience you could ask for they'll get you all the info you need to make a decision without all the hassle. They also charge considerably less then an international company does, and the money goes to the guys actually doing the work and not some international CEO on the other side of the planet. And should you decide to go trekking with these guys after all your research is done I can only say this, I have never trekked with someone who knew better exactly when to leave me to plod on in silence and when to talk to me and distract me from the fact that it was getting maybe a little bit hard to keep going;) Raby was brilliant in this, and because of it I have a uniquely fond memory of this stunning country and my time spent there. I did The Langtang trek with him and it is one of my best travel memories throughout Asia. I would go back and do it all over again in a heart beat and recommend both this company, the country and it's mountains to anyone who feels like getting out and using those two feet of yours!

Great, wonderful guides in amazing Nepalese scenery. Highly recommend Raby Dong as a guide, he is professional and always aware about safety.
In October 2014 two friends and I went on a trek to Annapurna Base Camp with Raby as the guide for our group. To be honest I started out a little sceptical as there are so many trekking companies in Kathmandu and I hadn't done a lot of research, just joined in with thw girls who had their trek. When I first met Raby I remember thinking that we were in for a bit of fun, as he had us laughing in the first few minutes (a theme that continued through our entire trek). Raby was a great guide from start to finish, from arranging buses to helping us buy supplies, arranging transport and trekking permits, encouraging us and helping us when we were tired, putting up with us complaining, joining in with us when we decided to sing and most of all keeping us safe and offering his expertise along the way. A majority of the time he acted like a younger brother, teasing and laughing with us, but he also knew to be serious and offered support and encouragement when we needed it. He particularly was reassuring as we reached higher altitudes and was constantly checking that we were feeling ok and had plans in place for what we would do if any of us were affected by altitude sickness. It was fabulous to have all of our accommodation and food arranged so we didn't need to worry about the details and just had to walk to the next destination. After 10 days together we finished off the trek feeling like we had made a new friend in Raby, and his brother Nir, both of whom were great companions. I can't even imagine how much more difficult the trek would have been without their help and assistance. Really, having them there made our time hassle free and enjoyable, despite the sheer physical and mental exhaustion that comes along with trekking. I loved my time trekking ABC and will definitely be back to do another trek in Nepal. It is such an incredible place that has captured my heart on my first visit. I highly recommend choosing Raby as a guide and I would trek with him again on any subsequent visits.
