If you ever thought of trekking in Nepal but weren't sure about the how's, where's and so on, these are the people to talk to. Raby is an amazing guy who not only knows the destinations and can help you out choosing, but also everything about what equipment is needed for that specific trek at that specific time of year. He'll help you through the whole experience and you'll feel all the more grateful for his help! There being a lot of companies to choose from it can sometimes be difficult to navigate through all the information, but seeing as these guys are a local company with all the experience you could ask for they'll get you all the info you need to make a decision without all the hassle. They also charge considerably less then an international company does, and the money goes to the guys actually doing the work and not some international CEO on the other side of the planet. And should you decide to go trekking with these guys after all your research is done I can only say this, I have never trekked with someone who knew better exactly when to leave me to plod on in silence and when to talk to me and distract me from the fact that it was getting maybe a little bit hard to keep going;) Raby was brilliant in this, and because of it I have a uniquely fond memory of this stunning country and my time spent there. I did The Langtang trek with him and it is one of my best travel memories throughout Asia. I would go back and do it all over again in a heart beat and recommend both this company, the country and it's mountains to anyone who feels like getting out and using those two feet of yours!

Raby is fantastic. He is a kind, resourceful and fun tour guide and expedition leader with plenty of experience on Nepal's foothills and mountains. The accommodations that he organized were very comfortable and he always made sure that we had enough food and drink in our stomachs to be able to fully enjoy the natural beauty of the Annapurna region. I am not sure when it will be - but I am very excited to go back to trek with Raby!

I first found out about Raby from dear friends of mine that trekked with him in Nepal few years back and in spite of distance and time they kept in touch. My friends recommended Raby from the bottom of their hearts and I did not hesitate for a second to take their recommendation. So I contacted Raby few weeks before my arrival and I got the best service one can possibly ask for, as well as priceless advice and detailed responses to my many, many questions.
By the time I landed in Kathmandu I felt like I knew Raby for years he was already my friend. I had everything planned and organized (he even helped me with return plane tickets from KTM to Delhi!), I was ready for adventure.
My first few days in Kathmandu were amazing, Raby, l took me to see some extraordinary temples and sites where he explained all the religious symbols and customs. He answered to all my questions and patiently waited for me to take all the pictures I wanted and they were many. He also introduced me to the real Nepali and Newari food, oh, the fantastic Nepali food!!!
Raby and his brother Jit have trekking company, “JRN Treks & Expedition (p) Ltd.” took care all the formalities and bureaucracy needed to safely start my dream trek: the Annapurna Circuit.
With feet on the ground and eyes gazing up at the vast expanse of the mountains and sky, I knew I was going to have one of the most fantastic experiences of a lifetime. What made it a truly positive experience was Raby and his brother. Raby and his not only a veteran trekking guide, who knows the trek routes extremely well, who knows all the guesthouse owners, who can answer any questions about the significant places and Nepali customs, he is also a very kind, caring, happy and engaging person. He made the trek fun and enjoyable.
We walked five to six hours a day until we reached the next guesthouse where we spent the night. Along the way, we shared all kind of stories and had lots of laughs. I learned a lot about his family and culture and vice versa. Raby also taught me a little bit of Nepalese throughout the trek. As we walked, he would speak Nepalese words and phrases repetitively until they were ingrained in me. Oh yeah, he would test me, too! Being able to communicate even with Nepali people along the trek made a huge difference in the entire experience. Back in Kathmandu and before leaving for home, Raby invited me to his home to have dinner with his brother Nir ( Also Trekking Guide ) who were all so very warm and hospitable.
I came as a tourist and I left as a friend!
Thanks again, Raby! You have made my time in Nepal an everlasting, memorable one.
I would definitely go back to Nepal and there is no one else that I would want to guide me and show me the wonders of that incredible country.
I recommend “JRN Treks & Expeditions ” (www.jrntreks.com) and Raby from the bottom of my heart.

I just finished the Annapurna Circuit with this JRN Treks & Expedition Company for three weeks. My trip was definitely hard at some points but the awesome views of Himalayan high peaks and the whole adventure experience were surely worth the plan ! The journey starts from Besi Sahar, we followed the beautiful Marsyangdi river valley to Manang and then crossed the worlds biggest pass -------- Throng La pass ( 5416m. ) ------- to other side. After struggling in the "windy valley" we got to Tatopani and enjoyed the hot spring. Finally after seeing the great sunrise on top of Poon Hill, we went down to Nayapul and back to Pokhara. It's a trip that i'll always remember !
One Really important thing in my trip was my loyal Guide and friend Raby. Without him the trek wouldn't be as fun and cool as i had, Raby was recommended by my friend and he does live up to his reputation. He has been trekking all over Nepal for more then twenty years and knows almost everything along our paths -------------- the road, the people, the culture, the good local wines........... etc. Trekking with Raby is not only safe and easy, but also happy and unforgettable. for trekkers who want a better trip, i highly recommended This JRN Treks & Expedition Company and use him as the Guide for your Holiday trip to Nepal...
Hope you have a great journey and make some memories that you'll keep forever !

Great, wonderful guides in amazing Nepalese scenery. Highly recommend Raby Dong as a guide, he is professional and always aware about safety.
I would like to sincerely recommend Raby Dong as a trekking guide in Nepal.
During May 2011 I enjoyed an eleven day trek in the Annapurna Sanctuary with the main destinations of Annapurna Base Camp and Poon Hill. Throughout the entire round trip from Kathmandu Raby was attentive to my safety and comfort, well organized and clear in his explanation of what to expect each day.
I found it very easy to trust Raby and appreciate his honest demeanor. While firstly he provided me with a professional service and a safe trip, more importantly I was able to travel with him as a friend and thoroughly enjoy the opportunity to learn something of contemporary life in Nepal, with a lot of laughs along the way.

In October 2014 two friends and I went on a trek to Annapurna Base Camp with Raby as the guide for our group. To be honest I started out a little sceptical as there are so many trekking companies in Kathmandu and I hadn't done a lot of research, just joined in with thw girls who had their trek. When I first met Raby I remember thinking that we were in for a bit of fun, as he had us laughing in the first few minutes (a theme that continued through our entire trek). Raby was a great guide from start to finish, from arranging buses to helping us buy supplies, arranging transport and trekking permits, encouraging us and helping us when we were tired, putting up with us complaining, joining in with us when we decided to sing and most of all keeping us safe and offering his expertise along the way. A majority of the time he acted like a younger brother, teasing and laughing with us, but he also knew to be serious and offered support and encouragement when we needed it. He particularly was reassuring as we reached higher altitudes and was constantly checking that we were feeling ok and had plans in place for what we would do if any of us were affected by altitude sickness. It was fabulous to have all of our accommodation and food arranged so we didn't need to worry about the details and just had to walk to the next destination. After 10 days together we finished off the trek feeling like we had made a new friend in Raby, and his brother Nir, both of whom were great companions. I can't even imagine how much more difficult the trek would have been without their help and assistance. Really, having them there made our time hassle free and enjoyable, despite the sheer physical and mental exhaustion that comes along with trekking. I loved my time trekking ABC and will definitely be back to do another trek in Nepal. It is such an incredible place that has captured my heart on my first visit. I highly recommend choosing Raby as a guide and I would trek with him again on any subsequent visits.
